  • Blinker bulb on Camaro

I need to change my blinker, but I am not sure what the best way to go about doing it. The dealership changed one for me at 9,000 miles, but they told me they to r&r the headlight before they could get to the blinker. Is this true? Maybe I should go from underneath?
anyways, thanks in advance for any help

i don't *think* you have to remove the headlight...been awhile since i did mine. removing the headlight is really simple anyways, takes about 5 mins to R&R the headlight.

Well, that is one wat to do it. It depends upon whether you want to change the bulb from the top of the car or from underneath the car. From the top may actually be quicker.

From the bottom you simply raise the car to get some access to the front spoiler, remover it. Also remove a couple of the black flexiable plastic splash panels underneath to gain access to the bulb and then change it. Replace in reverse order.

As I said, it may be quicker to change it from the top by removing the head-light.

Well I'm not sure which side of the car you're talking about. But on both sides of mine there's a little "trap door" which I have to unscrew a screw from and it just swings down and I can reach up inside there and disconnect the bulb harness and replace the bulb myself. Hope that helped.

          thanks for the replies
yes I have seen the trap door I changed my fog lights using it (very easy)
I will look and see if I can get to tit from the bottom, if not, will I mess up my alignment of my headlight if I take it out? and is hard to take out the headlight?

i pulled my headlights out today to mess around with my clear corners a bit, and it looks like it's possible to change the bulbs in the blinker without removing the headlight.

there are two bulbs in the corners. the one closest to the center has to be taken out from the top of the housing, the other from the side of the housing.

it's easy to pull the headlight assembly out. it's one 10mm bolt, and you will not mess up the alignment. pull out the bolt, and the headlight slides towared the center, pull it outwards, and then it'll come out. if it's your first time it'll take some time to get it out....it gets easier every time.

if you're changing the bulb closest to the center, imo i'd remove the headlight just 'cause it'll be hella easier then going from underneath. (less frustration) if you're changing the other bulb, go from the bottom.

              thanks
I will remove the headlight because it appears to be the bulb in the center (when I turn on my headlights it will still light up the outside)
