about a month ago my car started over heating, tried flushing sytem, tried everything, so i took it to a mechanic and they told me hydro carbon is in the water probably cuz of cracked heads, they wanted 1500 so i decided to do work my self, lifted motor took off heads and sent them to a machine shop, they said the heads were not cracked but warped, so they machined em down and did a valve job, i just got my car back together finally and still over heats has this happend to anyone else? what should i do now?

Have you checked the water pump and thermostat?

Well, not to sound smart alecky or anything but I don't know what "everything" entails in your inspection.

The warped heads could have been a by-product of the car's overheating, but now that you have spent the money to get that taken care of it is time to find the real problem since the car is still running hot.

It could be a partially blocked radiator, a failing water pump, bad thermostat not opening all the way, cooling fans that fail to operate, etc. "Overheating" entails all kinds of driving conditions- sometimes due to sitting still, sometimes cruising. It can also be due to a lot of things as I stated above plus more. Whatever it is is going to take some careful diagnosis. However, for me to begin to hope that I will be any help to you, I need to know a little bit more than "the car gets hot". The heads were warped and you got them serviced, so that possibly takes one piece out of the equation but it leaves so much more. Any other info you can give?

sorry its not the thermostat, nor the water pump cuz the water cycles, as of right now i dont even have the thermostat in just the housing because it wasnt openign until 250F and we were trying to get all the air out of the water system
