Funny thing I noticed today is that if engine spools up (at around 3500rpm) it might not misfire even if I floor it. But only when it's spooled up. When it's not spooled up it will stutter... if I'm going uphill it will stutter, unless I downshift and spool it up to like 4k rpm or so..... What might it be then? Vaacum leak? My brain hurts...

Sounds like detonation to me. I dont think your Cat is clogged. If you wanna check just go back and feel the exhaust coming out of ur tips or bang on the cat when it's cold with the bottom of ur fist to see if there is anything rattling in there.
From what it sounds like, it's a spark/ignition problem. You've changed the plug and wires but maybe one of them wasn't on tight, was internally broken already, or something. Go back and check the wires and plugs. And stop trying to romp on it b4 you do some big damage to your internals. I think its still ur wires/plugs. Even though it might be new sometimes they come defective.
I had a clogged cat in my previous car as well as my 'maro, and clogged cats does not cause misfires. It simply makes your car struggle to get up to speed and the more it's clogged the lower your top speed is and harder it is to accelerate. ok, i changed the plugs and wires 3 times, switched them all around 3 times and still misfire in the same cylinder. so plugs and wires are out of the way..
ok.. i changed the coil packs to ones from a 98 camaro...
i gotta question tho.. if a coil pack goes bad...wont it cause both cylinders it controls to misfire?96 Camaro M5. well guys i've had a misfire for the longest time. initially it was cylinder six. then i bought some cheap autozone wires for like 15 bux. had a shop change the plugs and wires. it was still misfiring now in cylinder 1. had a high pressure fuel injecter cleaner done, and still misfiring. changed fuel filter still misfiring. months gone by and i decided to buy some knew wires from autozone again ( the cheap one ) just changed cylinder one. still misfired. today i bought some taylor wires. changed all the wires except for cylinder one. cause its a pain to reach. started my car up and the misfire was GONE.... i thought that it might of been my injectors, but i guess it was my wires. what kind of wires do you have on your car? that might be the problem.

Xact wires for 20$ at advance. It's not the wires, it's not the plug. Funny thing is that powerband before 2500rpm it stutters always... powerband between 2500rpm and 4750rpm it is very smooth, pulls hard (stutters just a tad little bit), at 5000 and above SES light starts flashing. So whats the dillio?

Big probem! My car had the same symptoms and I was changing out the same things before I finally took it to get diagnosed. The problem was a bad fuel pump. The only bad thing is I took to long to fix it so it started to cause other problems (bad cat., collapsed lifter, etc.) So get it fixed asap

im running taylor spiro pro plug wires..
and ngk tr 55 spark plugs..
instead of changing out the in-tank fuel pump, can i just add a walbro inline fuel pump?

Okay, I'm fed up. Buying all the diagnostic tools, and replacing stuff that doesn't need replacement is going to end up more expensive than if I'm going to go and diagnose the problem with the mechanic. Tomorow I'm taking my car to mechanic to diagnose the problem. 30-70$ is not that much, considering I need the car NOW and I can't afford to shell out money for stuff that the car doesn't need.

I have this exact same problem too. Changed to taylor wires and ngk tr-55 plugs. The first time i took it around the block it was fine. Now it runs like a$$ again. ESPECIALLY UP HILLS. Cruisin at 60+ is fine, and 0-30, anything in-between is terrible. I got an SES light too. I'm taking it in to be scanned tomorrow so I'll keep you posted on what I learn.

ok.. i noticed something different now.....
since all this rattleing of my engine going on as i drive... it loosened up the bolts to the collectors ... causing an exhaust leak..
now it runs smoother throughout the RPM range.. but backfires everytime i let go of the gas and press the clutch in...

BREAKING NEW.. JUST IN!
I FIXED MY MAJOR MISFIRE DELEMA!!!!
ok, i was bored tonite, and figured.. ok..no sun out.. nice breeze.. ima check out my coil packs one last time...
so i took off the icm, along with the coil packs... when i took off the coil packs.. i noticed that all over there was this green gunk like sludge all over it.. had a gum texture.. it was all over the prongs where the coil packs plugged into and everything.. so i took a very fine sandpaper and sanded it all down, got rid of all the gunk, then cleaned it all up with rubbing alcohol... BAM!! MISFIRE FIXED!!! IT RUNS LIKE A ****EN CHAMP AGAIN!!!
