I donno how 96 camaros are, but in 2000 3.8 there are fuel lines right in the way when you remove the module. They are metal lines with rubber insulators and there's no way around them. Only way is to either remove THEM or remove middle coilpack and squeeze out... Also, pain in the *** is that harness in in the back and it's bolted in. So, I had to rotate the module inside, unscrew the harness and then remove coilpack and then remove the module (as you know F-bodies have "tons" of space in that area)...

About 6 months ago i had a misfire like this and replaced...
Coil Packs, Injectors, Ignition module, plugs 3 times and wires, fuel filter, exhaust, a couple sensors. I had the motor cleaned at a shop where thy spray a bunch of gunk in it and it spits all the carbon out. It had fine fuel pressure and fine spark when i tested it, so I replaced the air filter which wasnt the problem. I was going to make a manual torque converter lockdown switch because i was starting to think that was the problem. After a couple hundred dollars, 4 trips to 2 dealerships, 5 or 6 trips to local shops I decided to play with it myself again. I would wiggle the sparkplug wire boots and it would ruin fine for a couple minutes (then 5 mins later start misfiring again usually up hills) I ended up buying a set of $20 autozone wires and before i put them on i crimped the little round connecter inside. PROBLEM WAS SOLVED! The connectors were sliding off of the sparkplug (#6 for me) and causing the misfire when it warmed up.
I havent had a problem since.1988 Pontiac Fiero Formula SOLD!
1999 Pontiac Firebird
http://members.sounddomain.com/tlight99

well my problem is back..
i dont kno what to think it is.
it can be anything from a list of 20-30 different things.
thats it. i give up. i dont have the proper scanning tools to figure this out. and neither does autozone.
so im gonna be taking it to the dealership tomorrow or sometime next week to get this **** scanned properly96 Camaro M5. Yes baby! It was coil... put everything in, crank her up, didn't start up right away... (kinda choked), thought I messed up wires, cranked again started right up, and then 2 secs later started purring... let it idle for around 10 mins, rev engine a little, everything seems fine. Took it out, floored and almost **** my pants... it's FAST... rofl I donno maybe the coil was bad since the day I got the car, cuz it's just crazy acceleration. I floored it and got kicked into the seat it wasn't funny. Drove around the block, parked it, it's just purring... exhaust sounds like a charm, everything sounds awesome... no more SES light, now it feels like a sports car again...

im not sure how our fuel injection is set up but in my 89 camaro, it injected the fuel to the front 2 cylinders then the middle 2 then the back 2, i had bad misfires in the back 2 plugs, and they kept getting burnt up, turns out my fuel pump was bad and only the front 4 cylinders where getting fuel, my uncle said alot of cars used to be set up like that, but i dont know if its changed since then, just speaking my experience. it was a tpi 2.8 lt.http://camaroz28.cardomain.com/id/onoiocoko
\"there are three kinds of people - those who can count and those who can\'t\"

hi, my 97 camaro has been doing pretty much the same thing as everyone elses. when i start it up after its cold it idles fine, but when i start going it hesitates and hesitates until i have it completely floored then it goes and the SES light starts blinking. after its warm its fine, except it hesitates a little when going up hills or when i slowly increase pressure on the gas pedel. i have changed the plugs, plug wires, and the fuel filter and its still doin the same thing. the mechanic at a local shop thinks its either the coil or the coil modulator, but he says i should wait til it gets worse so he can know exactly whats wrong. he also said that kind of thing wont show up on a scanner, so thats why he thinks thats it. well, just lettin everyone know my situation and i'll keep you updated.\'97 V6 30th Anniversary Camaro, Mystic Teal, 245/45/17 Kuhmos w/ 17 Crome Corvette Replicas, Pioneer Premier headunit w/ MTX 10\" Loaded Enclosure, Flowmaster 80 Series Muffler w/ highly modded cat..., B&M ShiftPlus, Front blackouts and bra

Tyler have you replaced the coils??? Mine did the same thing, the first time and there was a bad coil and I spent over $300 trying to find the problem, I changed the plugs and wires, fuel air filters and everything i could think of. In the end i took it to the dealer and in 15 min they told me exactly what the problem was. i could have kicked my own a** for not doing that in the first place. To me $50-80 for a genuine GM scan is worth every penny. My car looks great and runs good.
Please Look at my car, it may be one of a kind!!! Let me know if you like it...
Hard to find 1995 Firebird with 3.8
http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/view_page.pl?page_id=429908
