• Official ghetto mod thread.

i know everyone's done a ghetto mod to their car; something you just can't buy in stores. maybe they can archive this for the newbies.

    here's mine...

i bought some flex tubing at home depot. cut holes in my front bumper support for the tubing. ran the tubing from the hole into the airbox. i covered the hole with a small hole screen to keep bugs out.

NICE, thats all those TX bugs up in that biatch! getto mod for me would have to be the FRA, cut out the bottom of the airbox and radiator shroud, and fixin to be the EGR rig up if my parts ever get here... gonna block off the headers, and put a rubber tube from the IAT sensor hole and run it to the EGR valve, Home Depot Performance!!

I have a blow tube in the cockpit that goes to my fuel press. regulator.

When I want to run slightly rich for racing, I blow into the tube really hard and increase my fuel press.

i did that with 4" dryer hose on my old K-5 blazer into the stock frying pan type cover and it helped a lot ;P and check out intake/exhaust under custom ram air to find out what i did to my firebird!

I was just kidding about blowing into the fuel pressure tube. I actually keep a small monkey in the center console and he controls the fuel pressure by blowing in the tube. Anyways.....

I have never actually used the bug washing device, but I always keep the washer fluid resivoir filled.

I think I will take that system out. I bet it is pretty heavy, and we all need to shed weight out of the nose of our cars for 50/50 distribution.

ANyone got any thoughts on taking that out?

It is probably against virginia (va is my home) inspection code, but I have friends in high places.

Don't take it out.... re-route the lines to the rear wheel wells and put wide jets (washer squirters might work) on the ends. Fill the reservoir with VHT (for sticky get up and go) or bleach (for the smokey stop light burnouts)!!!

what would be really cool is to reroute them to spray on tailgaters (my luck the first person I spray would be a cop)
edit: leave the bleach in for good measure :D maybe some works toilet bowl cleaner

I took my washer fluid out to mount my MSD DIS-4 there :D YES, that SOB is heavy! It's a good 3 gallons of fluid at least, plus the plastic is like industrial heavyier-than-gorilla-sh*t strength plastic. It is definately a nice weight reduction

Edit - My ghetto mod was moving the Air Intake Sensor (I guess thats what its called) to right on before the filter on my air box to make the car think the incoming air was a little colder Maybe like, 1hp at max lol. Didn't help a whole bunch.

                              ghetto mods...

home depot CAI - cut and moved fuse box, filter sits in fender well.

short shifter - hack saw down as far as i could confortably cut it - ~2.5in.

home made fan switch...pretty ghetto, but also intuitive.

grounding kit - home depot & radio shack

as far as the washer resevior - put some race fuel in there, and route the nozzels into the intake. :D
