I posted this earlier in this thread:

quote:
My install didn't go smoothly. It wouldn't recognize the 2nd cd. So I just left the install program sitting and browsed to the new folder on my computer where it was being installed to. Then I made a note about which folder it was trying to copy the data on cd 2 to. Exited the install program, which undid the install of 1st cd and deleted all the program folders on the hard drive. I then copied all the cd's to the hard drive in a seperate folder. Ran the install program from the hard drive. From there I had to use winrar again to extract the data from cds 2-5 into the folder that I had noted earlier. I told the install program when it asked for cd 2 the location of the files and it worked from there on.

Put all of the files from the data cd's into the same folder on your hard drive and try extracting them with WinRar. Extract the files to where the install program would have put them.

I am new to this, but I tried to connect to your ftp, and it shows the various files. I tried downloading one of them and it says connected and transferring, but it just stays at 0%. Any ideas?

hello all...looks like while I was in class the ftp service hung on my server, so I rebooted just now, so if you were having problems before try again, I tested all the files and they burn fine to cd, following the instructions need4speed posted earlier about manual install worked for me for installing the cd's. Also if you are about to start downloading the files I highly recommend using an ftp client. :) Sorry about the problems ya'll had today.

That's the part where you copy the data from cd's 2-5 to your hard drive, any folder will work. Then open winrar and start extracting the file that was on cd 2.

Some of the files are large enough that they are split and the second part is on the next cd. Winrar will either automatically extract the second part after it gets done with the first, or it will ask where the second part is, I don't remember. And you might have to do this winrar on the data files process 2 or 3 times. It was a long time ago when I installed this, I'm trying the best I can to remember how I did it.

That link is working for me, glad to see that it is online.

But when I have the laptop in the car and I'm working on it, chances are I can't connect to the internet and need it on the hard drive.
