Is it normal for a firebird to have a little tail smoke at 4000 rpms and up?

if its running properly, burning most or all the gas in the combustion chambers, i see no reason it should have ne smoke after the car has warmed up.

does the "smoke" have a distinct blue (oil) black (unburned fuel) or white (coolant) hue to it? If so it's not normal.

Otherwise, I'd chalk it up to cooler weather.

it is a grayish white color that only comes out when i am above 4000 rpms. I knowticed it on a cold morning so that may be the reason. I will rev it on a warmer day. What should i do if the gray smoke is not from the colder weather?

97rs... did you paint your own interior or order a kit?

Make sure it's actually smoke and not steam. Steam is normal and will dissapate, smoke will not.

Okay, then it is steam because it gets up to my spoiler and it disappears.

Steam forms on cold mornings and when your car is cold. a little repspiration happens at the end of your pipe and does it until the inside and the outside temperature evens out, sort of like the windshield
