  • Low Oil Light

I have a faulty sensor in a '95 3.4 that shows low oil when I start the car - if I turn on the ignition; then turn it off then start the car, it does not stay on.

Anyone know how to disable this light?

Not that easy - it is apparently in the oil pan.

the sensor just sticks out of the side of the oil pan, it's very easy to change. just drain the oil first to avoid a big mess.

it may not be faulty. did you check your dipstick? the same thing happened to my 01 3.8. for some odd reason my low oil light came on so i turned off the car and restarded and it went away. after driving normally for a few days like that i checked my dipstick and it was good thing i did becasue i was REALLY low on oil. if your dipstick sez your ok then sorry i cant help.

Definitely not dipstick - comes on right after oil change. I check weekly.

            Thanks tho.

I'll pick up a new sensor & change it on next oil change.

That sensor is cheap and easy to change...probably your best bet.

The same thing happened to me a while ago. When I changed the oil I change the sensor as well. That did the trick. The sensor is like 30 buck and real easy to change.
