I know this has probably been asked a million times but I searched and couldnt find it. How many quarts of oil does the 3.4L v6 take? I lost my owners manual, drained the oil and now Im kinda up the crik until I find out.
I remember something like 4.3 quarts. I know that the .3 is hard to figure out, so just put in 4 quarts and then sneak up on the last amount by waiting a few minutes and then checking the dip stick and adding a little more until it's full. Just wait a few minutes btwn each time that you add some and when you check it.

the 3.4 stock oil filter (for AC Delco) is part number PF47. If you buy PF52 (the kind used on the 4.3 GM V6), it will increase your oil capacity to a full 5 quarts.
I have been using the PF52 size for a long time with no problems.

All you need to do is take to a machine shop and tell them to add about 2" in the middle of the pan all the way around. You'll have to modify your pick up as well

I need to do this cause this 5 quarts of oil thing isn't working, I run high rpm too long sometimes, and I'm thinking about a gravity fed saver tank on top of a larger pan, and maybe even a cooler.
you have to bend/extend the pipe. i'm not 100% sure though because i had the machine shop take care of it when they built the motor
