• 1997 speed limiter

Ok, 1997 camaro V6. ive called every place in town and they all tell me NO ONE makes a tuner/programmer to remove my speed limiter. What are you guys using, what is the maker and part number. Hyper tech makes one for camaro v6 but only for 2000-2002, will that work on my 1997? thanks

I think hp is too complex for what i want to do. all i want to do is remove speed limiter and maybe the rev limiter also.

if you rev it past the limiter without the motor being nmade for it, the motor will blow.... there is not even fuel and spark controls after 6400 RPM do to the limits of the stock PCM......

you can remove the speed limiter (mine is set at 250) be NOT the revlimiter

Are you saying you want to exceed 180kmh?

What track are you running at?

none of them work your best bet is to send your PCM away to texas speed and they wi9ll do a basic tune and add ~ 5- 10 HP and make the car alot more fun to drive

BobbyZ72 , do you think your car is capable of going much quicker than the speed limiter?
                            \'98 Camaro V6
Appearance... pleasing
Performance... just a little extra air.

I had a 1999 before i bought this 97. the 99 i guess the last owner had somehow removed the limiter. That car would easly hit 125, and still be gaining speed. I had to start to slow down pretty quick after passing 125mph because the rearend started feeling loose, as in loosing good traction and wanted to step out of line. So to anwser your queston...hell yes it will go much faster then 118! My next question for you guys is why the hell would chevrolet make the the gauge go to 125 when the car will only do 118. Guess the dumb Engineers could not calibrate it that way. In my oppion its just to make it look fast. And that if it goes faster then that all my leaking seals will totally blow out yall know what im talking about...all the leaks...i had all mine fixed. now i think the oil pan gasket it leaking again. I have a drip fixing to fall right now after only 3 months and 2000 miles. The next car i buy, on my test drive im going to make sure the car will do ATLEAST what the speedometer says.
