Well I think that with only basic mods and 3.42 gearing, an auto/manual car should be able to hit close to 140 or so.

I really don't understand what you guys keep asking "How much faster do you think you can go"

A Mazda Miata with it's huge 1.8 4 cylinder will hit 142 topped out.

So with that in mind........I should be able to hit at least 150 or so (and at Brainerd Raceway for all the "why on the street guys"). Who knows how fast you could get with a nitrous shot or a power adder. Probably 160 plus.

Your tires are only rated for 118MPH, T rated, so after that there's a good chance they fail, and you'll be seriously, if not fatally, hurt when your vehicle hurtles out of control.

I had to start to slow down pretty quick after passing 125mph because the rearend started feeling loose, as in loosing good traction and wanted to step out of line. So to anwser your queston...hell yes it will go much faster then 118! My next question for you guys is why the hell would chevrolet make the the gauge go to 125 when the car will only do 118. Guess the dumb Engineers could not calibrate it that way. In my oppion its just to make it look fast. And that if it goes faster then that all my leaking seals will totally blow out yall know what im talking about...all the leaks...i had all mine fixed. now i think the oil pan gasket it leaking again. I have a drip fixing to fall right now after only 3 months and 2000 miles. The next car i buy, on my test drive im going to make sure the car will do ATLEAST what the speedometer says.
that masda also has alot less wieght then our car.... a full stock car i dont see it getting much over 130-135

Whats a MASDA? My tires are all brand new and not the cheap T rated tires, that yalls cars have. Looks like if im going to keep the car im going to have to take that long cruse down to texas speed. Looks like about 5 hour drive from here. Im sorry but i just cant have a computer limiting my car at a silly 118mph. I dont race or hardly speed, just if i get a wild hair to show off i want my car to be able to do it.

jesus you guys pay to much on tires...

I spen $107 on my tires...

You don't plan to really go past 118 ever yet you want to spend $275 to take off the limiter?

put a toggle switch in line with the VSS. Your speedo will go dead.

jesus christ... $265 a tire vette run flats autocrossing slicks and drag radials are all cheaper.

PS I would look into the Jet SCU... probably the cheapest way to get rid of the speed limiter.
