Is the heat sheild around the spark plug and the spark plug wire easily removable? Would it be a good idea to remove them? the reason i'm asking is because i got these Taylor wires and the end that connects to the spark plug is really short and won't go through the heat shield like the factory wires. So i was wondering if i should remove it or did i get the wrong set of wires? i have an '01 firebird, if that's of any importance. thanks!

Are you talking about the manifold heat shield or those individual plug wire shields?1994 Firebird 3.4<br />15.65 @ 86.8<br /><a href=\"http://www.funkz.net/firebird.htm\" target=\"_blank\">funkz.net/firebird</a><br /><a href=\"http://mywebpages.comcast.net/funkz/timeslips.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Timeslips</a>

I installed my accell wires without any shields, but I custom cut then routed them very carefully to make sure they would never come into contact with the manifolds or the hot engine block. No problems so far...sigpic
