Oil change

Today i was going to run over to a jiffy lube and get my normal half synthetic oil change and spend around 40 bucks, but instead i decided since it was such a nice day to do it myself. I was surprised to find out that it really isnt that hard at all. Also it was a hell of a lot cheaper.

20.00 for 5qts of Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Oil
5.99 Oil Filter
3.99 Oil Filter Wrench
.99 funnel

31.00 for Mobil 1 oil change is awesome. Next time will be cheaper due to already having the wrench and funnel. Anyone who has thought about doing this should try because it is very easy.

hehehehehehe.....you were going to pay 40bucks. at my dealership, its 24.99 to get an oil change and we use Mobil 1 and AC Delco filters. :D

I wish I knew a dealer who did oil changes with mobil 1 for 25$ :(

ya, thats a little off, 25$ usually gets you pump oil, mobil 1 runs 30$ just in parts and thats employee rate... even costco and sams it costs 20$ for 6qts...and ya I used to be a grease monkey too at a dealer.

where do you get 5 quarts for $20 the cheapest we have is 20 for 4 quarts

Changing your oil yourself is the ONLY way to do it IMO. I would never let those goofballs at Jiffy Lube touch any car of mine. I changed the oil in all three of my cars on Sat, it was about $75 for Mobil 1 and filters for all from Walmart. Plus you get a chance to look around under there, and sure enough, there was a minor problem on one of them.
