    What are the stock tire sizes from the factory. When I bought my 96 Camaro the guy had P235/55R16 Cooper Cobra Radial GT's on them. I know that the Coopers are not the stock tires(or stock brand) but is that the still the stock size?
    1996 Polo Green Metallic Camaro:<br />SLP CAI, Carsound/Magnaflow 3\" in/out cat, Flowmaster 2.5\" cat-back... sounds great

      It really depends....some people had 215s as stock. 235/55R16s are the stock size though.

        technically 215s was stock and 235s was an option.

        245s are stock on v8s.

              i was just curious what number determines the height (low profile-ness) of the tire. i was looking for something more low profile for my car. right now i believe that i have 245/60/16.

                really? When I got my car it had 215's on it but I replaced them with 245/50/16. I was told that was the closest to the stock diameter I could get. I would think that 245/60/16's would throw off your speedo a good bit. Tire size explanation.

                  Yours -
                  245 = Width of tire
                  60 = 60% of width is sidewall height
                  16 = 16 inch rim

                  Mine - 275/35R18
                  275 = Width of tire
                  35 = 35% of width is sidewall height
                  18 = 18 inch rim

                  If you go any lower profile on your stock rims your speedometer will be off.

                    What sidewall ratio would allow me to use 245's on 16" rims and still maintain the stock outer diameter of the tire to keep the speedo accurate?
                    96 White M5 Camaro. Manual everything. Magnaflow cat, dynomax dual outlet axle back. Swapped to a disc rear with 3.42s and a torsen differential, kyb gr2 rear shocks, moog rear endlinks.

                        215/60/16, 235/55/16 and 255/50/16 are all very nearly the same outside diameter. There is no combination using 245 that will yield the same outside diameter.
                        I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

                          wat size tire wall would you need to get to keep the speedo the same when increasing to 17" or 18" wheels...if it is possible?
