• Lil' Girl - Big car - mods help please!

Just got bored with the Tahoe I had to I went a bought a 2002 Z28. It is a great car, only thing I think is missing are leather seats...

Anyways, I don't know the first thing about mods on cars... would some dear, kind person care to help me out?

Just looking for the simple things right now - but I have no clue where to start! Any help would be grately appreciated!

First let me say nice choice in cars. Well, what are you really looking for in mods? Appearance or performance? Since you bought a Z28 I would think your looking for even further performance so can't say enough about a good ezhaust for the LS1 cars. I mean if you look at the Y-pipe on the LS1 its just sad to say the least. Do you have a auto or a 6-speed?

intake or exhaust is usually easiest to do on our cars. Maybe you should start there and if ya want you could work your way up.

I am looking for performance mods... I want a FAST, mean car! I have the 6spd! As far as the exterior - that can come later... What do you recommend for the exhaust? Does it null the warranty? (See I am naive)

        Thanks!

To be honest a good site to look at would be either LS1motorsports.com and ThunderRacing.com. They have some really bad a$$ cars there. To be honest which system is totally up to how much you want to spend, what kind of performance your looking for, and what kind of mods you have or plan to do. I would suggest to think about a set of long-tube headers (w/ jet hot coating), a 3" y-pipe into a collector that would allow you to have a 3" system all the way back. That would be a good start I think. That's what all my friends have done and the gains are very nice. The only thing is it can end up having a nice price also.

will not affect warrenty unless u start to look at headers common exshuast systems for your car are the Borla and Corsa. Borla alittle more cause u can adjust the tone so one day u want it lound good and the the next day u want quite just put the quite plate in u may get more help over at www.ls1tech.com probably the smartest people i have ever talked to but if u want serious power save up for a supercharger or a turbo for your car very nice.

haha, alright. well for loud you can get a cut-out which is like running without a muffler (LOUD). Ummm Flowmasters are loud and sound sweet on a v8, B&B or Borla are loud but they cost you an arm in a leg.....

IMO, best exhaust for a V8 is either Corsa (www.corsaperf.com) or GMMG (www.gmmginc.net). Exhaust or cold air intake is a good way to start. What will you be doing with the car? (i.e. drag racing, autocross, street, etc.)

OK I found it! Here it is GMMG Exhaust. Now when you get here take a look at the last 4 photos (they are really video clips if you want to hear it) on the left side of the page! All I can say is that the sound you hear is awesome to me.
