ok so while driving ive been hearing a strage clanging over bumps and when im slowing down with my gears. inspected the transmission mount and it looks torn.

am i right is it time to replace it? how much is the part and how hard is it to change. looks like all you do is drop the crossmember, take of fthe old one, put in the new one. is that right?

also my car has been leaking oil like crazy. while i was under my car tonite i checked it out. i found a few things that it could be. first is the rubber gasket on the end of the transmission that the driveshaft sits in. its loose and the driveshaft can wiggle around and i can see some transmission fluid slowly coming out. is this normal or is this another thing i need to replace

and the other thing i think it may be is the oil pan gasket or the rear main seal. i tried just tightening the bolts on the oil pan a few days ago but it didnt make a difference. if its the oil pan gasket, is that difficult to do? and if its the rear main seal what is involved in changing that?

if its torn like you said then yes, it needs to be replaced and difficulty and probably price can be found by searching.

if its so bad that you can see the fluid coming out, do you think it needs to be replaced? ;)

as for the oil leak, its always hard to say by just looking at a leak to tell if its an oil pan leak or rear main but going off tightening things down wont help any because a lot of things have torqe specs and im sure you didnt use a torqe wrench and specs. so if anything, you can make things worse or cause a whole new problem. just like above, doing a search will answer a lot of questions already asked a million times and answered 5 times that with a lot of tips for diagnosis and repair. enjoy the reading. :D

i've broken a few bolts in my days from overtightening them.
****ty old bolts woulda died eventually, goood time to upgrade them to stronger ones anyways
