  • 1998 Firebird headlight cover

Hey guys, I need some help. The person I bought my Firebird from had a bra on it when i bought it. I took it off a year ago and my friend who was helping me lost the screws to the headlight cover (the outer covering, the metal drivers side cover that has "Pontiac" on it) We put some ghetto screws to hold it in place, it held up for a year and last night i was driving the cover caught air underneath, ripped the screws right out and it flew back. Only 1 screw held up, so I didn't lose the cover, but it bent it back pretty bad. It bent the little metal holding pieces and i can't bend them back right enough, the headlight cover is like a half inch off when I close the hood. I'm gonna have to buy a new cover, I just can't get it right, if i keep bending the tabs around I'm gonna break them entirely. Any know the GM code for the drivers side cover? And the screws to put them in. Sorry if this all sounds random and screwed up, but I tried typing this as fast as I could before I leave for work. Thanks for all the help.

You're talking about the black bezel that surrounds the lights, correct? Not the painted door?

hey TucsonBird- I meant the actual metal painted door. I took the assembly apart this weekend and worked around with it and bent the tabs back into place. Then I put it back together and by pure luck it lined up! Can't tell it was ever bent. Luckily I didn't have to buy a flip-up door and have it painted!
