  • Rear Defroster Broken

My rear defroster suddenly doesn't work. When I push the button, I here the little click, but the light doesn't light up and my defrosters never come on.

Has anyone else has this problem. What broke?

did you check the fuse/relay? check the ground and connectors. there are alot of things that can break but unless you have/get a multimeter, you need to just take it to the dealer.

Mine did the same thing when it was under warranty. They replaced the whole HVAC and it worked for a while, then it went out again, now it works but the auto off feature doesn't work. I would say try to find a replacement HVAC and pop it in there to see if it fixes the problem.

Dont just throw parts at it, get a Digtial multi meter. Check if power is getting to places, check grounds ect. You can get a craftsman for like 50 without autodetect for voltages ect. Just don't blow your fuses.

I was thinking on swapping out the 30A fuse, but I tried moving the properly working fuse from the power window circuit into it and the defroster still didn't work...this makes me think that a new fuse wouldn't help.

its not a fues its realy thing that over heats..... i think it says 30A on it YOU MUST USE a 30A fuse a 25 amp will blow out.. as the defroster draws about 27 amps.....
