  • EGR Valve, pipe removal

If I were to completely remove the EGR system from the engine and block off the Exhaust manifold and Intake Manifold openings, would I lose any performance/economy from my 3.4L? Any possible gains from the SMOG crap taking a hike? I am fully aware of the possibility of this being removed throwing a code, but eventually I am going to have my PCM reprogrammed with the EGR system and all functions deleted anyway. More room to get out plugs and plug wires on the passenger side would definately be a plus anyway.

From what I hear, you should throw no codes doing this with the 3.4. ODBI does not seem to notice...

Removing the EGR will throw a code. Should loose about a mile or two per tank. If it doesn't throw a light now, then don't remove it. Why fix something that isn't broken.
