noob speed questions

more stupid questions that i should probably know...

1) some guy at Autozone said that turning off ur AC is the same as removin ur belt, is this [img]graemlins/bs.gif[/img] or does it just sound that way?

2) do they have some kind of high flow MAF or can u just take the damn thing off when u r gonna race real quick? is that a bad idea?

I'm not sure about it but I'm pretty sure that the AC pulley is clutch engaged so when the AC is off, it's just freewheelin'. hope that helps a little
