  • Do I need the heat shields on?

I recently did my plugs, and wires, and when i did, i pulled the heat shields off the exhast manifolds...

Now when i went to put them back on, the bolt that is built into the manifold is all stripped, and the nut will not screw back on, and i bought new nuts, and washers and that didnt work either.

I am getting ready to leave for florida and need to get this fixed.
I dont see why i'd need them on, other than keeping heat away from the plug wires but i made sure they arent touching / wont touch.

Anything reason u know of why i'd need them back on?

And if i do, what are my options of getting them on with stripped bolt thread.

its a good idea to put them back on if you can to try and keep that heat out of the engine bay as best as possible

the starter will over heat, then won't work and you will ahve to wait for it to cool before you can start your car again
