Hey guys good to be back. Anyways, This last week my oil change light has been coming on when I turn the car on. Then it goes away after a couple of minutes of driving the car. I just did the oil chang about 1500 miles ago with mobil 1. I also seafoamed it about 1000 miles before that.
Re: Oil change light on... btw great looking board
It's that you need to reset the light after every oil change.
Here it goes...
Turn the car off, Then turn the ignition switch to run (dont start the car, just turn it to the run position) and press and holt the trip meter reset botton until the oil change light starts to flash. And thats all, your light is reset.
Remember to do this every oil change.
Re: Oil change light on... btw great looking board
turn your ignition to the on position, and press your gas pedal down 3 times really fast.
your oil light should stay on for (i think) 60 seconds after you start the car, then shut off (or at least that is what it does in my dads impala) telling you to change the oil.

I don't know what year car you have, but the procedure posted by victimizati0n is wrong. Do what 9t9fb said. Just hold the trip reset for 12 seconds and you're done. You have to tell the car to reset its calculations for the oil change.

??? I've never heard of the gas pedal thing, but the way I posted it was straight from the user manual and that's haw i've been doing it for 7 years and it works.
