Link

I found this ad while searching around for a Firebird under $5K I test drove it and it is a really great car. Shifts smooth, handles well even in the pouring rain I drove it in. Anywho. The guy said he is willing to go down to $4K on the car, which I am thinking is more than reasonable pricing.

Is that too much money for a 1995 Bird?

EDIT: Fixed the crappy linking job...

Looks pretty nice and the mileage isn't too bad.. I would keep talking down because I purchased my car @ 80K, 94, perfect condition... asking for 4300, but talked him down to 3100. Maybe a miracle... but I think that this car looks to be a good investment. I'd have to see it first. Oh... welcome to the wonderful world of F-Bodies!!!

I am trying to get him to go under $4K for it, that would really be sweet.

          Thanks for the welcome.

(sorry about the crappy link up above)

I wish I could find a Formula, but the car note and insurance is hard to pay for with a part time job...

I got my 95 for $5400 with 58,000 miles. Talked the guy down from $6500. I would take it unless you could find a formula or z-28 for a real good price. But honestly if you are looking for performance then get a 3.8L. You get a 40HP start over the 3.4L. Also get the Y-87 performance package, do a search and ye shall find the info. The 3.8L comes with a few 95's and 96+ cars. But if you like it get it.

It's not the cost that is the problem, it is mainly insurance. I am 17, you see...and my parents don't give me help on paying for anything(hell I had to buy the car I have now :( ). They say if I want a new car, then I must buy it myself and keep the insurance paid on it. That is why a 6 (stepping up from a 4 cyl) is good enough for me. Although a Formula or Z or SS or TA would be kickass, I wouldn't be able to afford insurance on it and have some spending money.

I think I will take a break on that too...keep in mind that I am going up from a 1.9L four cylinder. Any six will satisfy me.

Gimme a break as well, I've driven many of sixes, thats all I have ever driven, (A few fours), and the 3.8L with Y87 moves pretty nice in my opinion.

The 95's are good cars but they are lacking in one department, power under the hood. I've driven my 3.4L for 7 years now and it's been super-dependable up until about a month ago and I've got it in the shop now for a head gasket replacement. It's been virtually problem free other than regular maintanence and self-inflicted problems i.e. me tearing something up trying to modify something else.

If I could do it again, I would go for a 96 with the 3.8L. The extra 40 horses is quite noticeable and with some simple and relatively cheap modifications (intake & catback) you can have a pretty quick car.

Yes, 3.4L guys, I said it, I'd rather have bought a 3.8. I still have pride in my lil 3.4 but you just can't argue with 40 more ponies stock!!! :D
