Hi guys ... a quick update on the problem. I took my car to GM thinking it was some elaborate issue relating to stripped gear, sensor or switch (or some combination). The main problem I had was that my lights would not engage/pop all the time, and the switch hardly ever worked. You know what the problem was? Simple... the headlight hinges needed to be lubed. No charge, and the switch/lights work fine now.
Anyone experiencing weird issues ith their pop up lights, try lubing or greasing those hinges. Mine were real tight and this is why my lights would not always pop up.
