Man that had to suck.. I work on circut cards, basically I solder.. There have been many chips I intstall that are like 4-5k and they come back to the shop 10 mins after the trouble shooters run them up to get replaced due to not working from the factory!! Just sucks..

            Sigh, still nothing.

As for me cutting wires..... it started up several times after I installed the last starter..... everything worked fine.... I let it sit from sunday to thursday and it would not start up on thursday.

Since it was runing after the rewiring of nitrous I know it is not a cut wire issue.

I got no readings through the neutral safety switch... no volts at all.

            Hmmmmm

I just want my bird to run so I can RACE!

you should not get volts you should just get a connection

the n-safty just grounds and lets the starter turn over

Re: POS won't start again, I need help!

I came to this site because of this same problem. My daughter has a 95RS with the 3800. Had starting trouble 2 months ago. Told the son-in-law to install a hot wire to a push button (he hid it in the ash tray) to the solenoid.
I knew it would work cause I had the key on run and used a screwdriver to jump the solenoid to the hot lead and it cranked and ran. Then yesterday she was visiting us and told me she couldnt get an inspection sticker because there was an O2 code showing up. I cleared the O2 code, the Evap malfunction code and tried to clear the MAP PO107 low voltage code. The MAP code did not clear and now the car will crank up run 2 seconds then die like the car was turned off. Guess I'll change the MAP sensor tomorrow and since I read this post jumper the N Safty sw. May be use the key again.
If anyone has experiance with the MAP sensor I'd be glad to hear about it.
And 12second v6 if you need pictures on doing the push button I'll be glad to help. It may work for you.

y'know what would be really funny???? wire up an "easy button" from staples to start the car :D c'mon you need to at least jump the starter to get that out of the way/....because with the new starter, it hasnt ran yet....this starter may actually be defective and you would'nt know it.

if you haven't jumped the starter, jump it....

I forgot did we ever conclude that you were getting power to the solenoid?

If so, maybe pull the starter and try and turn the starter without the motor on.

I still say also throw another good battery in or jump the car, to try that.

As of yesterday... the bird roared to life! :)

Thanks to all for your help!

My neighbor wandered over while I was slowly removing the heater core.... he works in a garage and specializes in electrical on newer cars!

Well.... in no time my bird was up in the air.... he had multi meter in hand..... 45 minutes later.... he found under the dash where the GM dealer had wired in an aftermarket alarm.

Ages ago it was removed so I didn't think anything of it.

Well... the connections were pisss poor at best.... and one (main ignition/ power wire) was not connected!

So... connected it..... car wouldn't start but starter was slowly turning over and then click click click.

A quick jump start and viola!

                              Bird is running! :)

I wanna go over those connections further during the week.... but thanks to all, I'm back and running!

Start chasing the rest of those wires out, man. I lost 10lbs with stereo and airbag wiring. But congratulations that you got it started. I can't wait to see the 11-second run.
