MAF? I have no MAF, I've got a 3.4 :( how bout a IAT sensor?

I still think it might have to do something w/ the pull on the alternator maybe a smaller one don't you think?

A smaller pulley will make the alt think the engine is at a higher RPM then it actually is...just allowing it to output more amperage. We both already have highout at idle alts. Regardless, I have the EXACT same symptoms even with the stock alt on. There should be no need for a smaller pulley. This should not be happening with all stock parts.

ok so i got the code checked out...
              P0151 o2 signal low Bank 2 Sensor 1
he said use 89 oct gas... i dont think the code is related to the else prob.
we hooked it up to the multimeter and it was reading 14v with the car on and i pushed the brakes constantly for a cppl min to get the voltage to drop... the voltage drop was showing thru the voltometer in the camaro but NOT on the multimeter hooked up to the batt and alt... so what does this mean??? i also had my TB cleaned while i was there cuz it was NEVER cleaned b4.
the mech said that the idle rpms is low and the alt doesnt pump out that much amps at 600~700rpms so maybe thats the pron and if it is how can u raise the idle rpms?
EDIT: i looked in the archive and code P0151 is for DTC P0151 HO2S Circuit Low Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 1
              what does this mean????

Hmmmm... not sure about that code kamaro. First, the tech was right about alts not outputing much at idle, however, did you tell him you have a H/O alt? Regardless, those with the stock alts are not having this problem. The only thing you can do to raise idle output from the alt is to actually raise the idle RPM. No modifications should be necessary! It's all stock! There is obviously something wrong here. Changing pulley size or idle RPM or anything for that matter should NOT be the answer. I'm still stumped.

Nope. Been starting fine everyday, everytime. I'm debating on putting it in to see what happens voltage wise, or return it. I don't wanna take of the post caps/covers and install it....then have it not change anything. I don't think they'll let me return it after the caps are ripped off. :(

this is so confussing, and yes they kno its a HO alt cuz they installed it 4 me. i asked them about adjusting the idle and they said that they would clean the TB to see if that would help the idle... it didnt so im goin back today(friday) and seein what they could do.

Thought I'd chip in that I've been having the same problem. Three months ago my alt died, so I went and bought the reman. advanced auto alt and installed it the same day, it fixed the problem. One month ago the (stock) battery went, so I bought a new battery, and everything was fine. Until a week ago.

I started the car one night to let it warm up, ten minutes later I come back and the charge is almost in the red. So, I kill the stereo and start heading home. The charge fluctuated the entire ride, and I made it home. It's been doing that since. I've replaced the alternator AGAIN, and I've tried various things, but myself or my master mechanic boss have not been able to figure out why the battery isn't charging, or holding a charge.

On top of all of that, just yesterday my speedo has started to act up, reading 70mph when I'm doing 55.
