  • I still say it might be the pulley, or belt slippage?

I was driving to work this past Friday when suddenly my car bogs and throws a code while driving, any way I still make it to work but my car is idling high. Later on during my lunch hour I went out to test it, turn my lighs on, drive off and notice my lights dimming and gauge going to the red at the first stop light and getting worse every time I try to slow down or brake, worse than what it was before, I pull over open the hood only to find out my TPS had completely cracked in half, well I bought a new one and it has gone back to the normal symptoms it had before.

Can it be a loose or phugged up sensor maybe not making ground?

        • guess what ladies i fixed like 98% of the voltage drop... OK so as u can see from my link in the prev post my batt-alt cable got ripped up in my belt. so i decided that this was the day that i would upgrade EVERYTHING lol. so i upgraded all the grounds... (+)BAtt-aLt (+)BAtt-MAIN POWER THINGY lol (-)BAtt-Ground (-)BAtt-ENG(Alt bolt) and i had to wire my amp to the MAIN POWER THINGY. all those connections i mentioned are 1/0g. ill have pics up 2morrow. u guys should see my hands there all bloody. i had to finish this at 7:30pm in the dark and 30 F. i had my kid brother(11yrs old) holden the flashlight and we were chatting and all he kept sayin he would never b so attached to his car when he gets one like i am lol. and i took the car on a cruz for about 45 min w/ heavy basssss. there were hardley any voltage drops. and when it did on extremely heavy bass songs it bpunced right back up really fast. so i gonna get a cap for my system there were no voltage drops caused by the car itself only the system. im ready for ur questions.

            • Hmmmm....interesting. The funny thing is, I have had the same setup (wiring and all) for quite some time now. Never had any problems. Then one day...blamo! That's why I'm reluctant to say my wire needs to be upgraded. If that's the case, voltage should have been dipping from day one. Regardless, I'm out of ideas and willing to try anything. I got LOTS of left over wire due to my stereo upgrade in progress. (replaced almost every inch of wire in the car! :D ) Which I'm almost done with now. Replaced headunit tonight. Components tomorrow! • well there is still min. voltage drop due to heavy amounts of bass at idle. but im sure a cap could solve that. but there was no voltage drop due to the car itself. im gonna go take pics now of my setup and make a diagram after i come home from buyin some **** to clean my car lol.

                • it sounds like you have a ground problem in your brakes, because it sounds like the problems start when you put on the brakes. you might have knocked something loose when you took out your system.

                            • there is not a ground for our brakes but there are a few other grounds on our cars except for the "big 2" all others are made of that flat braided wire, that corrodes easly. dont ask me where they are because i dont know but working on my car i have seen them
