Hey Kal-El you are right. My fans didn't turn on when they reached 160º. What the hell?
I'm sure that's why my car's temperature is still rising all the way up to 200º.
Does anybody know what's going on?
When I installed mine I didn't have to bled the cooling system or anything. Again like people said check your radiator and air dam. Also if you have any suspicions you bought a faulty thermostat, you can put in on your stove in a pot of water with the heat on and a thermometer in there, see what temp its opening up at
The thermostat is working fine. The problem is that my fans are not turning on at 160º like they should after I programmed them with the HPP3. Does anybody know why is that?
have you actually hooked up a scanner to see what temp they are coming on? You'd be amazed at how far the factory temp guage is off.

Last night I started the car and the needle went all the way up to 190º but the fans didn't turned on. I don't think the gauge is off by that much. I heard the thermostat go off at 160º on the dot. (Yes, you can actually hear a click)
Any other advise? or help?
i would get someone in your area with a decent scanner to scan at what temp your fans are coming on...but thats me.

ok I'll play along...maybe the computer isnt turning them on until 200* or maybe theres something wrong with your coolant temp sensor or maybe something wrong with your fans wiring harness.

hpp3 doesn't turn your fans on sooner, I think it does something for your timing with the thermo or something like that. You are still going to get over 160*, your thermo is just opening sooner than the previous thermo. I would check with Hypertech to see if changing the setting on the hpp3 actually is suppose to make the fans turn on sooner.
