What's the difference between the l36, and the l67? I have a 99 bird. Which one is it? Thanks, Jessica

you have an L36 ..no an L67 will not be worth putting in your car :D lol ..this is the engine that is used in the supercharged Grand Prix GTPs and some other GM vehicles..the only thing i have from a GTP are the injectors..im not sure what other parts are interchangeable

      You have an L36.

L67 is a blown 3.8 with better rods and pistons.

I didn't think you could even fit an L67 under the hood of our cars.

Thanks, well I guess a l36 isn't so bad hugh? I want a supercharger bad, but I'm so scared of screwing up my motor with it on. I'm not gonna drive REAL hard just cruise but if I get challenged, that's another story.

i dont recommend this..but i've said it a million times..i took my factory plugs and re-gapped them to .035 ..bolted the blower on the car..nothing else..no timing retard..no fuel management unit..just the blower at 6 psi..running premium fuel only i did this for..i dunno..maybe a couple months..the only reason i eventually added the FMU was because i started running nitrous with it too..if you re-gap the plugs..and have it properly installed..i can say at the 6 psi level you have almost nothing to worry about

Does the kit come with the fmu? I guess the one from Rk was what I looked at. I read the instructions somewhere for installation on a v8 bird and for 6lbs they were running fuel lines, pressure relief stuff, cutting lines, oh gees it sounded horrible. If I can just change plugs, run primo and make sure I buy all that I need to do it, will it be problem free? I would hate to mess up a good thing. (3800 problem free right now, 40,000 on car). Thanks! Jessica

The l67 has different wrist pins then the l36 so if you were to get just pistons you would have to get the l67 rods too.

thats the tough thing about having a powerdyne on a daily driver (which was my case too) ..you gotta get premium fuel..i never took track of mileage at that time..but i never noticed a difference..the FMU only increases the fuel pressure when it senses boost..so as long as you dont stomp on it TOO much (which is tough to resist)..i dont think you'll really notice a difference..and of course i never noticed a difference when i was running it without the FMU..try to search superchargers for a 3.4 ..i know theres a company that makes a nice one for a good price but i cant remember the name

for the price of a supercharger and supporting mods, like a tranny, rear end, suspension, and other things you will break or need. ignition, injectors la la la. you could buy one of these

they handle like a dream, have a v8 in them already, so you pull it out and sell it, drop in a carbed 450hp 350 in there and vualaa you have a 12-11 second car,

also you could still have your baby and keep her forever getting great mileage and looking good. the other car you take out on the weekends and just stomp anyone anywhere anytime.

plus, not sure the weight of a late 80's early 90's third gen, but the chevrolet specs of 1984 z28 say 3035 lbs. you dont even have to do a weight reduction.

oh yeah and you can say you own two out of four camaro generations.

ive, got a, 82 z28 in my garage with a soon to be pumped to 450hp 350 with only a few more mods. the engine cost me $780, the car $300, with headers, slicks, and new interior(exterior isnt much to look at yet) and a $240 performance clutch.i put an extra $400 into it installing the engine and things. about cheap paint job and some more elbow grease ill be having an nice looking 11 sec car for hopefully under $2300.

sorry for a long winded post,

                              BTW like the pics ;)
