I have a 3.4 v6. When the engine is fully warmed up, the oil pressure sits almost right at the line next to the red area, anytime when moving, the needle is in the middle. Should I put some thicker oil in it? Right now it has 5w30 oil.

Re: Is my oil pressure normal?
it will drop at idle, especially on a warm day. on the 3.8 1/4 at idle and midway under load is quite normal. 3.4 probably isnt far off. when it dops into the red at idle, thats when id start worrying. if its really bothering you, try "engine restore" or possibly "lucas oil treatment". I used to feel like mine was too thin. I tried both and it bumped it up... seemingly permanently. Right now im running mobil clean 5000 with no addatives.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT use lucas oil treatment.. it f's up your oil, from the air bubbles, and screws up your oil pump gears.

Re: Is my oil pressure normal?
put in a 160* thermostat....ever since i put that in my oil pressure stays around 75psi 70% of the time. Keeps the oil a lot cooler and not heating it up and thining it out. If i let it idle for a while and and get hot, the pressure drops to 60psi. I got a radiator flush at the same time i put the t-stat in and rarely does my car get above 180-190 degrese unless im completely stopped for a long period of time and it is hot outside. Havn't seen my temp get to 215* since i put the 160* t-stat in last summer. this is on a 3.8, however i would expect the same results for you engine.Black 1996 3.8 Firebird T5, SLP CAI, Pacesetter Ceramic Headers,160* t-stat, PCMforLess Tune, Flowmaster American Thunder catback, Car Sounds Cat, custom s-pipe, MSD coils and wires, NGK plugs, 3.42 posi rear, B&M Ripper, 245/50 BFG-G-force's
