    i would first check to see if its your thermostat.
    water pumps tnd to go out on the 3.4s
    and the waterpump could go bad, and NO fluid leak from the weep hole.
    if the temp flucuates, then its the fins of the waterpump.
    could be a clogged radiator, just building pressure, which would also go back to the thermo stat
    if its leaking you should really track it down.
    look on he inside of the water pump could be a simple gasket, or maybe the front cover gasket as well.
    if you think it really is a head gasket check for your oils color, or better yet pull the dipstick out, lol. search around the head for leaks, try to get under your car so you can see if theres any leakage from the back of the engine.
    if its just a coolant leak you can fix this yourself, if its a head gasket, then i would go by how comfortable you feel tearing apart your engine
    I will take on all comers...or come on all takers!!! Whichever you prefer.

Sorry to the original guy who posted about his overheating problem, but this happens when two likeable things come together in this group...cars and females.

        Yes, I know \"Artic\" should be spelled \"Arctic\". Can any of the mods change this?

          Oil looked a litle dirty but overall fine, def. not tan in color. Called a local automotive shop and described the symptoms they said def. blown head gasket and would be $1200 repair.

                  why lt1 if he wants to do a v8 swap go with a ls1
                  2000 camaro rs:whisperlid, 2.5 magnaflow exhaust, catco high flow cat, fast toys cai, 3.73, 160 power stat, msd 8.5 wires ngk iridium spark plugs, hpp3, zzp w/p and alt. under drive pullies, 1.9 Rockers/LS6 Springs with ls1 retainers

                    Once you start modding LT1s and LS1s the difference isn't that much. Plus the aftermarket for LT1s is cheaper and more established.
                    Buying in August: LS-1
