  • thermostat bleeder DRY!

i turned the car on, got it up to operating temp. Bleed the system JUST A LITTLE. (coolant and air came out).
I waited and waited for it to overheat, but it never did.
I just installed new Head Gaskets, and Red RTV'ed them.
So I went ahead and opened the bleeder again to hopefully let out some
air, and NOTHING came out!! I completely removed the screw, still nothing for minutes!
I squeeze the housing hose, and air/bubbles comes out!

Maybe rtv sealant or something is stuck up in my cylinder head passages/water pump?
I'll have to look at it tomorrow.
I have a brand new waterpump!

How long did you wait? You won't get anything until the thermostat begins to open. Could take several minutes. Have to wait for it to get up to running temp.

If the coolant wasn't flowing, it would overheat.

oh yeah, i forgot to say that I drilled a SMALL hole in my stat myself
      (its an Oreilly murray)
i did it so I could get air out sooner
and I did say that air/bubbles WAS coming out when it first heated up to operating temp
its brand new it should work
