Symptoms like no gas. What could it be?

My girlfriend is on her way home from work right now. And she called and said her Ranger is running like it does right before running out of gas, but she filled up yesterday. When I was on the phone with her on her way to work she said her check engine light came on.

Any ideas what it could be? She will have to get the code scanned for a better idea. But I'm looking for something to tell her to hopefully relax her.

Fuel pump maybe. Check out the code first.

go to harbor freight they sell a universal code scanner for $40
