I drained my oil today and there was an orange foam on top in the container I was draining into. Then when the drain slowed to a trickle, it became really thin and transparent and I caught it on a papertowel and it was definitely dex-cool. The oil gets changed every 3000 miles religiously. The oil was jet-black and I'm having some over-heating issues... how severe is my problem??!??!??

Re: Coolant in my oil!!
Normally when oil and coolant mix, it looks like chocolate milk.
Did it look like this?

Re: Coolant in my oil!!
It wasn't quite that bad, but I don't know if maybe they had seperated because it had been sitting so long, because It was black viscous oil at first and then it ran transparent and runny.Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion... Custom rear hatch..

Re: Coolant in my oil!!
Sorry to hear the bad news. Hopefully you caught it early enough that the rest of the engine is still ok. Re: Coolant in my oil!!
Yea, it sounds like it could be a headgasket or cracked block. If you don't know what you're doing, you're looking at an easy $1500+ to get it fixed. And deffinately try not to drive the car. It's just going to make the problem worse.2003 Zinc Yellow Mustang GT 1 of 701
ET : TBD
But our shenanigans are cheeky and fun!
