ok.......today i was leaving my parents house and pull out onto the highway to go home...as im pulling out i notice my temp gauge slowly getting hotter then it gets all the way to the red....so i shut it off.........call my dad, he brings me two big buckets of water, we put it in, and it starts leaking, we cant tell where from though........this is in a time period of about 30min or so with me starting the car while he pours water just to see what the temp gauge would do.....started it 3 times while he was pouring....all three times it was right at 210(halfway point)......luckily(hate using that word at this time) we were like a couple hundred feet from the mechanics shop where my car has been living lately so he got his truck and pulled me there..........any thoughts/ideas/suggestions i can do/try/look for? he's gonna call tomorro and see if the mechanic cant take a look at it. IM SO F'ING PISSED AT MY F'ING CAR!!!!!!!!!!! heres a lil recent history of upgrades/replacement parts on my car.....most recent-plugs/wires(bout 2 weeks ago); new computer, fuel pump(about 3-4mo ago); new water pump/pully(about 6-7mo ago...not positive though..dont remember...around then)

also, another F'ING thing i have no idea whats goin on, but i'll be cruisin along on the hwy doin bout 65-70(speed limit around here), rides/cruises just fine, but when the speed limit drops or i come to a stop sign or stop light i'll stop, light turns green, i gradually get up to speed, SOMETIMES not all the time, my car jerks really hard shifting from first to second then third to fourth then its fine.......any ideas/suggestions/clues/thoughts/ANYTHING????? its a 99 a4 w/around 112k miles...........oh also.......lately my oil gauge has been jumpin around lately, cant remember exactly, but it jumps between the first lil "mark" and the halfway "mark"....doesnt do it all the time but just something recently ive noticed..........any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.......sorry for the long assss post

your second problem sounds EXACTLY like my P1870, my oil preassure would jump around, and it would have the hard shifts, sounds like its your torque converter slipping from a worn tcc valve body, i would take it to a tranny shop and have it checked out asap

Suggestion? Find the leak. Fill the car with water and then dry everything. Start the car and let it run. Where the water comes out will be the leak.

Check your hoses around the clamps for rotting and slits. Most leaks will come from the hoses. Less often, but still common, can be from the radiator.

      Good Luck.
