well my belt is whining, and i have come to the conclusion it is the belt because baby powder on the belt solves the problem for a little while, what brand belt do you reccommend?

    Re: belt whine

i beleive that most belts are the same but alot of the car shows like to use a goodyear gatorback belt, you could also try using a can of belt condisioner. but it would probably be just as easy to replace the belt.
K&N air filter, Whisper air lid, magnaflow LT1 cat back, and magnaflow high flow cat, pacesetter headers, silverstars

more to come soon
but for now im out of money

Just replace it. all belts are practically the same, since you aren't doing any heavy racing. I'd say go with the gatorback myself

I've heard of MORE problems with noise than not with the Gatorback when I searched here.

Gates are good. I'm running a cheaper Korean-made one [you know how the parts stores have the choice of the expensive or the cheap belt]. Since the belt is so easy to change on our cars, I figured the cheap one was worth a shot.

I put on a $35 Dayco belt from advanced auto. No problems or belt whine. Got Dayco belts on my 69 as well.
