    Re: Chevy 3.8 3800 Series ll V-6 won't start

Someone responded with the anwers to my questions. It's all starting to make sense now. Thanks to this person, I now know what needs to be corrected. The line that I'm using for a return fuel line is not a return fuel line at all. It's a return vapor line. Apparently, when your fuel pressure regulator is mounted inside your gas tank, you don't have a fuel return line, you have a return vapor line. This vapor line is suppose to extend from the evap solenoid valve mounted on the intake, to the vapor canistor mounted on the gas tank. Fuel vapor is what is suppose to return through this line, not fuel. I need to run a separate return fuel line to the gas tank from the engine compartment. That's why the vapor canistor and everything else hooked up to it is getting saturated. I'm so grateful for all of your support. This could have turned into a disaster. I have certainly made some huge mistakes here. The fuel injection system is a very delicate one, not to be taken lightly. I hope that we have all learned from these mistakes, and that we perform a better and more extensive research when contemplating these types of conversions. I have a better understanding of what needs to get done and certainly more respect for the fuel system. I have many more challenges to face before this project is completed. With your continued support, I'm sure we will get there. Thank you again, Tommy.

You have been a very big help. All of you who responded have been an awesome help. Your support is greatly appreciated. Hang in there, I still can use your support. We know where the problems are, the question still remains, how can then be fixed? For instance: There is what appears to be a vacuum line on the leak detector pump on the gas tank, which runs forward from the leak detector pump to the engine compartment. I don't recall what it was hooked up to in the engine compartment. It may have been tied into the evap purge solenoid valve line that runs from the engine compartment to the vapor canistor on the gas tank. I do recall removing the PT Cruiser purge solenoid valve from the engine compartment, however, I don't recall how the vacuum lines were running. If anyone has a diagram that illustrates how the vacuum lines are running from the PT Cruiser purge solenoid valve, that would be a big help. Another item is, when I run the new return fuel line to the gas tank, how and where will I connect it to the tank? Exact where on the tank? Then, how can I disable the fuel pressure regulator in the fuel tank. Is there a way to by-pass it? If anyone has suggestions or answers to these questions, I'll be glad to hear them. Still a long ways to go. Thank you very much, Tommy.
