  • SPARK PLUGS - First change

My car is nearing 100,000 miles. I'm still using the original spark plugs. The car still runs great and gets decent gas mileage as my dependable daily driver for the past 6 1/2 years. I figure I should replace the plugs at this point.

    Questions:
    1. Does anyone favor just leaving the old ones in there (because they seem to be working OK)?
    2. What replacements should I use. The factory originals obviously worked satisfactorily for me.
    3. Any other words of wisdom regarding the spark plugs?

    Thank you.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

I have Bosch Platinum's in my car now and don't have any issues with them at all. IF I were to replace them again, I'd probably go with NGK's or AC Delco Plat's.

Well, I would suggest changing them because it will help prevent new problems from cropping up. As for advice..... I did mine about a month ago, I just used ACDelco, but NGK's rock too, you need someone with small hands, and LOTS of patience... it also helps to attack some of them from the top and the bottom, so two people can really speed up the process. Overall it takes a little while, but will e worth it. You might as well change your wires while your at it. Have fun and happy changing!

I change my spark plugs and wire three weeks ago, and my camaro feels like a new car. I put in NGK's Iridium IX Spark Plugs and change the wire with MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor Spark Plug Wire Sets. It tock me 2 1/2 hours to change them. good luck.
