Im kind of lost when it comes to codes. i really have no idea what they do. so here it goes

I keep seeing all this talk about an ses light that comes on, usually to do with peoples o2 sim. i was wondering if the code can effect the engine performance in anyway.

I live in SC (no emissions) so if it were to come up when i get my exhaust and cat will it need to be dealt with, or can i just "let it go". because from what ive read, they sound like a pain in the *** to deal with.

the "code" or "ses light" is a result of takeing off a catalytic converter and its o2 sensor. Its not that hard to get the code disabled by tuning or hooking up an o2 simulator. Dont think it will affect engine performance. If you live in SC you can drive around with your Service Engine Soon light on.
