vin number question..

does anyone know if there is a place where i can run a vin number on my g/fs car to ge tall the specs on it or anything to find out more about it??

If you want to know more about what options you have you need to check out the codes listed on either the door panel or in the glove box.

Both of those should give you all the info a dealer would be able to pull up by searching your vin.

thanks man that link you gave me only goes to 97 hersd is 01 but i will look in the door panel is that where it will say if its y87 or what her car has some stuff that a y87 has but i dunno if its really a y87 so i wanted to check that and find out what gears she has

There are all the possible RPO codes. Our vin decoder is also there (I didn't realize this earlier :twak:). The vins will be the same for forth gens, but that website probably wasn't ever updated. It is a lot harder to visually spot a y87 car with the 98+ models.

do only the y87's came with rear disk brakes? cause hers has them.. or was that just something chevy would throw on for extra cash?? i really wanna know what her gearing is

i got the numbers out of the door where do i compare that to find out if its a true y87??
