  • What tool is needed for man. trans. fluid plugs?

I got up under the car today and was going to drain out the manual transmission fluid, and when i got under there and looked at the plugs, i was trying to figure out what tool to use? By the looks of it, seems like you would just stick the end of a socket wrench in there and use that, but that didnt fit all the way in, and that couldnt be right anyhow? Do you need some sort of special key tool or something?

i dont have a man trans, but as long as it fits about half way in go for it. Im guessing its kinda like the plug on our rearends.

Yes, it's a 3/8" ratchet drive that fits into it and loosens or tightens it. Same goes for the rear differential fill hole.

haha thats what i thought, but ive never used a socket wrench without a socket on it to tighten/loosen something, so i was like wtf?
