  • Lifters going bad?

The lifters in my 3.8 camaro with 114k have been clicking for a few months, they seem to be getting louder and it takes them 10-15 minutes for them to stop.

My mechanic says I need to replace the cam at the same time as the lifters is that true? he also says it could be my oil pump going bad, but my pressure seems fine, right at the 60 mark.

    What should I do?

if you pressure is in spec and steady, its fine. I would replace the cam also but you dont have to unless there is damage.

If the cam was damaged wouldn't it click all the time?
