I have never heard of a charcoal canister. I take it its something to do with the fuel system. my question is why drop the tank? if its on top of the tank just cut a small hole in the hump in the back like a lot of people do when they upgrade the fuel pump.

Scroll down. We all have them. This is a pic of the canister's for the 99+ F-Body's. The 93-98's have them too but they are located right behind the driver's side wheel under the bumper.
It re-circulates unburned gas fumes to & from the engine.
