  • Heater hose mod

I heard you can lower your rear end like 1/2 inch with the Heater hose mod. What is it? and what are the down sides.

P.S. I have already searched for this with no luck

i think it's the remove the spring isolater & put some heater hose ( or some other hose) around the top part of the spring

^^^ What he says. The srping isolator is pretty thick, so slitting a length of heater hose an slipping it over the top coil will lower the car some.

            Re: Heater hose mod

            Has anyone actually done this?

I would think a lot of road noise would get transmitted up into the body by doing this. Also, heater hose isn't a great isolation material made to withstand repeated compressions, and I'm sure it would pound through after a while. Just look how it extrudes through a clamp when the clamp is tighted to much!

            Good concept, poor execution.

UMM, actually quite a few people have done it, the heater hose was after the fact though, at first it was metal to metal then someone realized the heater hose, and if memory serves me there were no abnormal effects, nor was there any noise (with heater hose)...go for it man, it's an effective cheap mod.

Ok, if it works, it works. At first I thought it was a joke. Hope I didn't offend anyone.
