  • still throwing a code

so I did the three wire O2 conversion hoping that would get rid of a code I keep getting. well that didn't work. I thought it would because of the headers I got. I figured I was getting the light because the headers run cooler than the stock manifolds and when I let off the gas it cools very fast and would set off a code.

I keep getting a SES light when I am going about 60 and as I go down a hill I let off the gas. as soon as I let off the gas I get the code. I cannot figure this one out.

just wondering.. you just put headers on right? id check the EGR tube for a crack. they are pretty flimsy.

I guess I have the opposite problem

I get the SES light when I'm cruising in 4th or 5th gear and going up an incline. . And then the next day it goes off untill I go up certain hills again and it lights up....I think and hope this is whats been causing my gas mileage to go down the toilet....I need to take it to Schucks and run the code, but if anyone has any guesses let me know

          Re: still throwing a code

actually the tube is less than a year old and still looks good. I am thinking of making some block off plates. would that keep it from throwing a code if its a stuck valve in the EGR?

oh and when I pulled the O2 sensors the one ont eh passenger side was the norman grey but he drivers side had a lot of orange tint to it on one side. what does that mean? too rich or too lean?
