  • alignment question, for those of you with aftermarket wheels.

i took my car to the shop that mounted/balanced my tires to get an alignment. they were going to do it for free because they put marks in my wheels while mounting the tires.

but after my car sits there for 3 hours they call me and say they wont do it. they claim theres no way for them to do it without putting marks in my wheels.

so not wanting to deal with them anymore i say whatever and leave.

my question is, how do you guys get your alignments? is there any way to guarantee that i wont get marks in my brand new wheels?

    thanks:burn:

Re: alignment question, for those of you with aftermarket wheels.

Find your local car club board/hangout and ask the members who they have do their alignments. Nothing beats a recommendation for a good local shop who knows how to do custom alignments and care for non-stock cars.

they must use some old fashioned alignment tools, cuz my dads shop uses a laser setup and doesn't hurt the rims at all. Check some other shops

yeah it depends... here we have les schwab... the place close to my house uses the old equipment... farther away in a nicer town les schwab uses the laser, just depends
