Are you serious? you need six. you stock gap is 60

unless your coil packs are not functioning properly, leave them alone. You can go MSD but for you, i would recommend factory ACdelco. same for the plugs but if you want something else, I would recommend an NGK spark plug.

              p0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire
p0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

Does anyone know what this is by chance and if so what needs to be replaced? They told me its either the spark plugs & ignition wires or the o2 sensor....Any suggestions?

                Re: Question about Ignition wiring?

fix the misfire first but you need to find out what is wrong. if you spend 80 bucks on MSD wires and plugs just to find out later you need a coil, you'll be pissed. after you fix that, then see if the P0420 goes away or not. If so, I would replace it that way you hopefully pass inspection

                  Re: Question about Ignition wiring?

The misfire might be causing the p0420 code because the fuel might not be burning correctly so your 02 is throwing that code. Check your plugs and wires first to see if they're ok. I would change them if they haven't been changed in a while, then get your engine light reset and see if it comes back. If something else is causing the misfire the code will come back. If it was the coil packs you would be getting a code for two specific cylinders since its one coil per cylinder. Do you have any buddies with the same year of car as you? If so then try switching coil packs to see it is the coil packs, that way you don't waste your money on them.

ok thanks! I think i may go up to firestone and have a diagnostic test...that would tell me what exactly the problem is right? Or could it be a waste of money? LEt me know! I have already got the MSD spark Plug wires on order as well as NGK Iridium IX spark plugs! I did this because i wanted to change them out since i never have! Anyways tell me what you think..

                    thanks

                      Re: Question about Ignition wiring?

the misfiring could be your plug wires... mine went bad and my car ran like sht. catalyst efficiency just means your car is running a little "dirty".
