    Hey there, been having some minor issues with the car (well at least I hope) whenever I brake to a stop and then accelerate I get a clunking sound from the bottom of the car somewhere. Originally I thought it was my exhaust pipes swaying around and bumping into the underbody, but I got it rehung with new tips and I still get the sound.

    Any ideas to what it might be? Took it to a shop and they told me they didnt know what it was lol. So alas I will see if any of you guys might know what we should do.

    It only happens when im deccelerating and then re-accelerating right after. Sounds like metal on metal or perhaps some sort of bumping.

    There is a panel under the Intermediate pipe that is bolted under it. When i put on my exhaust I had to hammer it to a slightly more angle to keep the clamp bolts from hitting it. It was a similar problem for sound but not sure if its what you have going on or not.

      could be a U Joint

      driveline slipping

      or

      loose transmission mount

      could be any number of things, but these are the obvious culprits that I would check first.

        well driveline slipping is out I think, transmission and driveline is brand new with less than 5 months on it. Its possible the mount is loose though, ill have to check that. But its more likely that panel thats casuing it, the sound started when I got my exhaust done now that I think of it.

          having a new trans and driveline in it make it all the MORE likely to be the culprit actually. you'd be suprised at how just loosening the crossmember and letting it pop into its own then torquing it back down will solve alot of problems a couple hundred miles down the road after a fresh install.

          but if it started up right when you got your exhaust done i would be following the same state of mind as you and would go down my entire pipe system while rocking it front to back.
