i want to get the hpp3 to reprogram the pcm, but i've read that it won't work on a 99 unless you got a 2000 vin number. how do i get a 2000 vin number so i can flashed my pcm. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

your best bet is to get a 2000 PCM and swap it

The HPP3 reads the VIN when you plug it in, if its a 2000-2002 VIN it will work. A PCM from a junk 00+ car is between $50-100, depends on the place you buy it from. Try car-part.com ?

Hey why is it that they haven't made anything for the 1995-1999 V6s? I mean the only difference I know between the motors is that the newer ones are drive by wire and the older car actually had a cable also that the newer ones came with tubular exhaust manifolds. Does anyone else know any other differences? I guess my question is...if they can make power with the newer V6s why not the same motor just different year?

Ask Hypetech - I personally think its very unfair of them... but I can't say anything past that. I guess there's always zzperformance for reprogramming options?

we were checking on his car and is not y87 but i think if i use his 2000 vin number and my 99 computer and the hpp3 it should work fine.
