    Crack in AC compressor...

    its a hairline crack at the bottom of my AC compressor...

    I filled it up twice in the passed 3 months to attempt and find my leak.. WHen i fill up the AC system, it will blow cold for about 15 hours.. then its back to blowing hot. It usually leaks out over night.

    I was under myc ar the other day, and noticed two hairthin cracks on the bottom of the compressor..


    Could this be the culprit?

    Defintely...I know when my ac went out it was a leak in the compressor unit. Have you tried filling it with the UV reactive stuff and then looking at the engine bay with a blacklight? That can tell you where the freon is leaking out.

      could that stuff be found at advance auto parts?
